It started the way so many Goosebumps stories do: a quiet night, a flicker of light, and something exciting just around the corner. For years, fans of The Goosebumps Crew Podcast have tuned in from their bedrooms, cars, and commutes, listening as the Crew laughed, theorized, and sometimes shivered their way through the strange and spooky world R.L. Stine created.
They’ve already made history in the fandom — conducting one of the only in-depth interviews with Kathryn Long (Carly Beth from The Haunted Mask 1&2 episodes of the 90s Goosebumps tv series), and even reuniting the original cast of The Haunted Mask (Kathryn Long, Kathryn Short & Amos Crawley) for a Halloween special that felt like a time machine back to Fox Kids’ golden age.
“It’s a big thing to stick with a franchise for over 20 years, and to be really super connected to it. It’s an era of television that we’ll never get back so it’s nice that people still appreciate it, and connect with it, and still find relevance in it.”

Now, something even bigger is about to happen: The Goosebumps Crew is making their very first convention appearance — and not just as attendees, but as a featured part of Cursed City Con 2025, happening September 27-28 at the Marriott San Antonio Airport.

A Convention with Chills (and Thrills)
Cursed City Con has quickly become San Antonio’s hub for all things horror, weird, and wonderful — a two-day gathering of artists, authors, podcasters, and fans celebrating the stories that keep us up at night. The 2025 event promises immersive panels, a packed vendor floor, autograph signings, and photo ops that bring fans face-to-face with the creators who terrified and delighted them as kids.
And this year’s lineup is one for the books:
R. L. Stine, the mastermind himself, will be there on Saturday, September 27.
Tim Jacobus, whose cover art gave Goosebumps its signature look.
Craig White, artist for many of the “Give Yourself Goosebumps” book covers
Johnny Compton, Celso, Avery Lee Jones, J. M. Logan, and more — a mix of horror authors and creators adding fresh blood to the weekend.
And of course, The Goosebumps Crew, who will not just be meeting fans but also taking the moderator’s seat for R.L. Stine’s headline panel.
“This is a dream come true. We get to ask R.L. Stine the questions we’ve always wanted — and we get to do it in front of a live audience of fellow fans.”
— Nick “Shawhain” Shaw, Co-Host of The Goosebumps Crew Podcast

A First That Feels Like a Finale — and a Beginning
For longtime listeners, this moment is the natural next step. The Haunted Mask reunion episode showed what happens when The Goosebumps Crew reaches beyond the mic and brings creators and fans together. Moderating R.L. Stine’s panel takes that energy to its highest level yet, giving the fandom a shared experience that will be remembered long after the weekend ends.
When the panel wraps, when the lights go down and the crowd spills back onto the convention floor, new memories will have been made: photos snapped, signatures signed, inside jokes shared, maybe even a live-recorded segment to be released as a special episode. It will be a moment when the podcast community meets the con floor — and both will be stronger for it.
“This is why we do it — to keep the stories alive, to keep the chills coming, and to share them with the people who love them as much as we do.”
— Isaiah Vargas, Co-Host of The Goosebumps Crew Podcast
