[00:00:32] Hi everyone, I'm Peter and welcome back to the podcast Quick question Have you ever noticed that some people at airports look absolutely miserable While others are gliding through the exact same chaos looking almost relaxed? It's usually not because they have lunch access or first class tickets It's because they follow these tips Tip 1 Get screenshots and photos of everything before you leave home
[00:01:01] And we mean everything Some of these may be obvious Others are less so Boarding pass Hotel address Train tickets Visa documents Travel insurance Even the map to your hotel Photos of your luggage Photos of what was inside your luggage Photos of your passport Because eventually one of three things happens Your wifi fails Your roaming doesn't work
[00:01:31] Or an airport app suddenly locks you out at the exact wrong moment And if you have ever landed at midnight unable to pull out your hotel address You know this is not theoretical advice And airlines lose your bags Photos of what your bags look like are very helpful for the airlines And having the contents documented helps with any lost bag claims Passports stolen
[00:01:56] Much easier to replace if you have even a digital copy to show the embassy or cancel it Tip 2 Keep your charging cable and portable battery somewhere instantly reachable Not because your phone will die Because airports are increasingly using QR codes for everything Boarding passes Menals Airport lounges Train tickets Visa forms Even bathroom access in some countries
[00:02:25] And the worst possible moment to discover your phone is that 3% battery is usually When standing in front of immigration officers Frequent travellers often carry a tiny airport pouch with Passport Charger Battery pack Pen Headphones And Medication All in one easy access place Not digging through your entire carry-on every 20 minutes Changes the whole airport experience
[00:02:54] Tip 3 The water bottle trick Here's one many travellers still don't know Bring an empty water bottle through security Most airports now have refill stations And airport water prices are honestly becoming ridiculous But there's another reason On long flights, dehydration makes jet lag significantly worse
[00:03:20] Experienced travellers often start hydrating before boarding Not halfway through the flight after already drinking coffee and eating salty airport food Tip 4 Bathrooms before landing This sounds obvious until we realise how many people don't do it It's especially useful for international travel Why? So many people get off the plane quickly only to then use the bathroom Wait for fellow travellers
[00:03:49] Readjust their carry-ons And then end up much further back in the immigration line than they have to If you simply use the restroom prior to arrival You can often save yourself a lot of time in line Experienced travellers also often use the restroom immediately before boarding starts Even if they don't really need to yet Tiny decision Massively better experience Tip 5
[00:04:17] The business traveller security line trick Most people choose the shortest security line Frequent travellers often choose the line filled with business travellers instead Even if it's longer Why? Because experienced travellers usually know the routine already Laptop out Belt off Liquids ready Pockets empty
[00:04:41] A line with 10 prepared travellers often moves faster than a line with 3 confused vacationers Reorganising the entire suitcase at the scanner Also, strange little airport psychology Many people naturally drift toward the right side security lanes The far left lane is sometimes noticeably faster So, let's recap Take screenshots and photos of everything Keep your charger accessible
[00:05:09] Bring an empty water bottle Use the restroom before landing Choose security lines carefully Many of these tips are complicated But together, they can completely change how travel feels Because the travellers who sing Kong at airports usually are not luckier than everyone else They've just learned how to remove tiny stresses before they become big ones Thanks for listening Safe travels And we will see you next time
